The South County Spotlight, which covers the area around St. Helens (the town, not the mountain) just Northwest of Portland, Oregon, published a complimentary article yesterday about St. Helens Bookshop and their emphasis on bringing local authors to their customers. Owner Lori Cardiff, who bought the store two years ago from long-time owner Luanne Kreutzer, has taken Luanne’s idea of featuring local authors by offering signed copies of any of their books and has greatly expanded on it. The shop now brings in local authors whenever they can,
and this spring is featuring an eight-week teen writers workshop, which will be overseen by four regional authors. It’s a good story about a great little store.
