Every Wednesday, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association publishes the regional bestseller list. On Thursdays, we celebrate Thursday Themes to shine a spotlight on some of the books from the list and give our brains a different way of thinking about books.
With reprints of The Fourth Wing hitting stores recently and then the novel hitting bestseller lists, it made us realize that several of the titles on our current bestseller list have had times when they were a little tricky to get. (You don’t hear about it much anymore, but there are still some glitches in the supply chain, it seems.) Did you backorder any of these titles? Are there ones I’ve forgotten we had to wait for?
Many booklovers have a TBR stack, so impatience while waiting for a reprint is more from FOMO than from a lack of reading materials. On any given day, there are great books readily available on the shelves at your local bookstore, and some are worth waiting for, too. (Pro-tip: Backorder books with your local bookstore. When shipments start to come in, you’ll be first in line! Another pro-tip: If you’re very excited about an upcoming release, preorder it with your local bookstore. That helps them gauge interest and secure enough stock. And again, you’ll be first in line!)
