From A Good Book in Sumner, WA:
It’s been one of those “making sh*t up” weeks. We do Blind Date books at the bookstore, and they’ve morphed from traditional blind date sorts of profile to Snark in a Brown Paper Wrap. It turns out that snark sells. Over the last few years, I’ve done more than five hundred individual titles and about 170 genre labels. As we start rolling toward the summer reading season, it seemed like a good time to revisit the labels and give them a solid refresh.
Here’s a sample of what went on the table this week. The back side of the wrap has a detailed explanation of the Snark Label. Some days they get snapped up as quickly as we can wrap them. It’s funny how readers will take a chance at something they know absolutely nothing about, but getting them to try something that you’re hand selling to them is like pulling teeth.
Oh, the bookstore offers a Bespoke Blind Date box, where we (well, me) package up a bunch of Snark Label books. Treat yourself! Get one for that friend who thinks they’ve read everything! Get one for your boss! Books are the best gifts. We can ship them!

[Any guesses what’s behind those snarky labels?]
