Authors, illustrators, and famous booklovers from around the country have rallied to create original, one-of-a-kind piggy banks you can bid on to support booksellers in hardship. The fundraiser goes through this Friday, September 30.

Parnassus Books and the Binc Foundation are dedicated to helping book people across the country in their time of greatest need. We all know that life can sometimes bring on unexpected challenges.

~ For Stephanie Appell, the children’s book buyer at Parnassus Books, it was being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer at 29.
~ For a bookseller and their family in Georgia it was a devastating house fire where they lost everything including their beloved cats.
~ For another bookseller it was not being able to work and the resulting loss of income while recovering from a stroke.
