The Finnish National Opera brings Moomins to the world of ballet! The dancer of the Finnish National Ballet, Anandah Kononen, has made a choreograph to this familiar and exciting story Comet in Moominland. The ballet is shown in the Almi Hall on March. In addition to these performances in the Almi hall, there will also be two performances in the main auditorium on May.
Although the body of the Moomins isn´t the most flexible for the ballet, the other characters of the Valley will take care of the classical ballet part.
Well, it’s about time someone “made a choreograph” from a favorite graphic-novel-from-before-they-were-called-graphic-novels! Bravo, Finland. Please enjoy the rest of the article (including the full cast of the ballet!) here.
(Special thanks to editor Viking Children’s editor Sharyn November for pointing out the Moomin ballet on twitter.)
Just be sure not to get seats next to The Groke.

The Fillyjonk could carry off a tutu quite nicely, I’d think.
