Is A Moose Boosh a kids’ book? A food book? An art book? A poetry book? I’m not sure where in the store to put it, so for a while I’ll keep it on our front counter, because it’s just the sort of exuberant, one-of-a-kind book you can’t help but pick up. Eric-Shabazz Larkin took lovely photos of food and people, he doodled cheekily on them with white paint, and he wrote goofy, earnest, sweet, and funny poems that celebrate (and make fun of) food and the people who eat it. It’ll make you (and your kids) want to take photos, doodle, make up poems, and, most of all, eat and cook with the people you love.
