The downtown Dalles (Oregon) store, Klindt’s Booksellers and Stationers, which is known as the Northwest’s oldest bookstore, is hosting a celebration for young adult readers and authors this Saturday. The store will host twelve authors and will provide a free barbecue, plus giveaways, gifts and prizes. Included in the line-up are Seattle author Conrad Wesselhoeft (Adios, Nirvana), Oregon Book Award finalist Anne Osterlund (Exile) and Rosanne Parry (Second Fiddle), who will bring her fiddle and will be playing in the back parking lot with local fiddlers.
The Klindt’s staff writes: “In recent months, we have noted continued significant growth in interest in the Young Adult fiction genre. In response, we felt we should reward our loyal YA customers by allowing them to meet some of their favorite authors!”
The event will take place from 11 am – 3 pm. There’ s more at Klindtsbooks.com.
