Even though it was set in New York City and didn’t have a lick of fantasy in it, magic seemed to be embedded in every page. The characters, the dialogue, the whole concept of the book. I mean, what isn’t fantastic about a boy and a girl meeting each other and falling in love, all through words and dares that they create for each other? I finished it feeling like I had stepped on to a cloud. And while it is a bit inappropriate, and sometimes philosophical (which I happen to really like, but others may not) I was willing to ignore that just for a chance to read an absolutely wonderful story about two unlikely people.
