Robert Sindelar, Managing Partner of Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park, Washington, has written a nice piece for Bookselling This Week, in which he gives examples of why booksellers should USE their own web sites, particularly to buy something, in order to learn what it’s like for the customer, so that you can do a better job of figuring out how to improve the site. Bingo! This is a smart guy, perhaps especially because he admits that he got the idea from Len Vlahos, the COO of the American Booksellers Association. Using other people’s ideas to improve your store? Now, THAT’s a smart move!
