The Oregonian’s Jeff Baker recently reviewed the brand new Ken Kesey biography, Acid Christ: Ken Kesey, LSD, and the Politics of Ecstasy (Schaffner Press, October, 2010) by Mark Christensen. Amazingly, this is the first Kesey biography, and Baker mostly likes it. He calls Acid Christ an admirable and ambitious book and says Christensen “did tons of research, knows what he’s talking about and writes with an edgy energy that often produces surprising revelations.” But, he says, the book can be tedious and goes on too long about some interesting characters not essential to telling Kesey’s story.
