On Wednesdays, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Bestseller List is published. Every week, we love to see what books have been most popular in independent bookstores around our region. As we peruse the list, we ponder patterns. Then we present this weekly feature: Thursday Themes.
It’s PNW lore that Seattle is “one of the leading sunglass markets.” Some bookstores sell magnifying sunglasses for reading; others sell sunglasses for eyes that don’t need the boost. Does your indie bookstore have sunglasses? We bet they at least have some books with sunglasses on their covers.
Atmosphere Taylor Jenkins Reid (#1 Hardcover fiction)
Not My Type E. Jean Carroll (#15 Hardcover nonfiction)
Where’s Waldo? Martin Handford (#10 Children’s illustrated) [I actually can’t see if anyone on the cover is wearing sunglasses, but with this many people, chances are good.)
