I have yet to meet someone who cannot benefit from Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings, no matter their beliefs or background. This monk teaches mindfulness, breath work, and living in peace in such a gentle and universal way, it can easily fit into your personal belief system and encourage you to look deeply into the sources of your suffering, as well as how to transform the present (and find safety and solace). This book encourages you to live quietly and compassionately right now, starting with kindness towards yourself, consequently benefiting everyone around you. Perhaps hurt people do hurt other people, but certainly healed people help heal others, and this book was a lovely introduction to a new way of living.
