Phinney Books welcomes you to the 14th annual Holiday Bookfest featuring dozens of authors signing their books.
Along with the author signings, a selection of authors will be reading from their books, and Greenwood’s Bureau of Fearless Ideas tutoring center will create an interactive Bookmakers Space, where new or seasoned writers can put together a tiny zine to take home or contribute some stories to the Comically Large Book.
Phinney Books will be handling book sales, and a portion of the day’s sales will be donated to nonprofit partners, the Bureau of Fearless Ideas and the Phinney Neighborhood Association.
Fiction is a traditional strength of the Bookfest, and this year they have Nicola Griffith (Menewood), Sonora Jha (The Laughter), Erica Bauermeister (No Two Persons), Dominic Smith (Return to Valetto), Jonathan Evison (Again and Again), Kevin O’Brien (The Enemy at Home), and Anna Quinn (Angeline).
The Holiday Bookfest also features nonfiction stars who will be chatting and signing books. Two of the writers—Claire Dederer and Kenji López-Alt— unfortunately have had to cancel, due to circumstances out of their control, but whoa, the writers they will have are still remarkably wonderful: Timothy Egan (A Fever in the Heartland), Ken Jennings (100 Places to See After You Die), Michela Tartaglia (Pasta for All Seasons), Jane Wong (Meet Me Tonight in Atlantic City), Kristi Coulter (Exit Interview), Tara Austen Weaver (Tulips), Suzanna Ryan (Dog Days), Peter Blecha (Stomp and Shout), Lyanda Lynn Haupt (Rooted), Langdon Cook (The Mushroom Hunters), David B. Williams and Elizabeth Nesbitt (Spirit Whales and Sloth Tales), and Kelly Brenner (The Naturalist at Home).
There will be kids’ and young adult book creators as well: Michaele Razi (Drake, the Super-Excited, Overeager, In-Your-Face Snake), Aaron Bagley (Duel), Deb Caletti (Plan A), and Julie Kim (Where’s Joon?)!
You will find a selection of their previous books, as well as these new releases, all for sale and signing. You can also preorder signed books through Phinney Books’ web page prior to the event, or call about availability of signed stock after the event.
The event takes place at Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave N in Seattle, WA.
