Ripe is red hot, blazing as fast as a comet. Every sentence keeps the tone in perfect place. This is a novel of workplace and existential dread, paralleled perfectly. I loved all the discussion about space, black holes, quantum physics, universe theories, etc. It’s something that I love to think about in general, and so it was nice to see that written down in a modern book. I’ve actively searched for these concepts in sci-fi, but I haven’t found a book that hits this same way as this one does. Although this was not a dystopian novel, it felt like it—it’s an extremely accurate record of how we are living.
