Every Wednesday, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association publishes the regional bestseller list. On Thursdays, we celebrate Thursday Themes to shine a spotlight on some of the books from the list and give our brains a different way of thinking about books.
Over the weekend, Taylor Swift (and lots of her fans from the region) rocked in Seattle with the Eras tour.
Therefore, it’s not surprising that this Little Golden Book made the bestseller list:
Taylor Swift: A Little Golden Book Biography Wendy Loggia, Elisa Chavarri (Illus.), (#2 Children’s Illustrated)
Here are some other books from the bestseller list that we think might pair with some of her Eras:
Red (2012):
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo Taylor Jenkins Reid (#9 Paperback fiction) (In honor of star quality and vintage looks)
1989 (2014)
Karen’s Haircut Ann M. Martin, Katy Farina (Illus.) (#10 Children’s series) (Taylor’s bob haircut was a fashion statement; Karen’s? Not so successful. Also, the Baby-Sitters Club original series was from this era– first book was published in 1986.)
Reputation (2017):
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Holly Jackson (#1 Children’s/ YA series) (This book reminds me of “Look What You Made Me Do,” and the vibes of the whole album and the whole series align for me.)
Lover (2018):
Weather Together Jessie Sima (#9 Children’s illustrated) (The palette, the depth of emotion in a lovely package– it works, right?)
Folklore (2020):
The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich Deya Muniz (#3 Young Adult) (This book feels a little brighter than “Folklore,” but I couldn’t resist including grilled cheese.)
