Every Wednesday, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association publishes the regional bestseller list. On Thursdays, we celebrate Thursday Themes to shine a spotlight on some of the books from the list and give our brains a different way of thinking about books.
A pattern we noticed in this week’s titles is words that relate to loss or theft. Many stores do inventory at this time of year, so those missing books might be haunting us. Or maybe we’re thinking ahead to Valentine’s Day and considering the difference between giving our hearts away versus having them stolen or lost… This is why this weekly exercise is a bit of a Rorschach test! What patterns do you notice in this week’s bestsellers?

“You Just Need to Lose Weight” and 19 Other Myths about Fat People Aubrey Gordon (#10 Paperback nonfiction)
