Every Wednesday, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association publishes the regional bestseller list. On Thursdays, we celebrate Thursday Themes to shine a spotlight on some of the books from the list and give our brains a different way of thinking about books. Sometimes the themes come from the covers, sometimes the titles, sometimes the authors’ names, sometimes insider information we have about the authors.
This week, I want to celebrate our bestseller booksellers! Rosanne Parry and Jake Maia Arlow are authors, but they are also independent booksellers at local, Pacific Northwest stores. So not only can you read the books they write, you also can support the stores where they work by buying their books and other books they recommend. This is the farm-to-table experience in the book world! Pro tip: If you want personalized, signed copies of these authors’ books for the holidays, order from their home stores as early as possible to give these hard-working booksellers and their colleagues time to get your presents signed, packed, and shipped.
