On Wednesdays, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Bestseller list is published. Every week, we love to see what has been most popular in independent bookstores around our region. As we peruse the list, we ponder patterns. Then we present this weekly feature: Thursday Themes.
When we looked at the bestseller list this week, we weren’t sure what decade we were in because so many of the new hot hardcover fiction titles are from authors who were big in the 1990s as well– or as some youngsters said to us lately, from a time “before the turn of the century.”
Demon Copperhead Barbara Kingsolver (#1 Hardcover fiction)
Fairy Tale Stephen King (#4 Hardcover fiction)
The Last Chairlift John Irving (#5 Hardcover fiction)
The Boys from Biloxi John Grisham (#7 Hardcover fiction)
Shrines of Gaiety Kate Atkinson (#13 Hardcover fiction)
