On Wednesdays, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Bestseller list is published. Every week, we love to see what has been most popular in independent bookstores around our region. As we peruse the list, we ponder patterns. Then we present this weekly feature: Thursday Themes.
This week’s bestseller list reminded us a bit of some baby name books that list a name with other names that might be alternatives with similar feelings or sounds: “If you like ‘Nora,’ you might also consider ‘Nona,’ ‘Nina,’ or ‘Naomi.'” We like to think about one reader who will love all these books, and we could imagine a trend of babies named “Nona.”
