Has anyone else noticed that wiener dogs seem to be of the moment?
First there was this in Shelf Awareness on October 5 (which PNBA Executive Director Brian Juenemann commented was “thankfully… when most were too busy to notice”):
In the “veeerrry long fold out book” Where’s Brian’s Bottom by Rob Jones (Pavilion Children’s, $9.95), children and the adults reading to them travel through several rooms in a house to find the back end of Brian, a red dachshund. Every page turn–through the hallway, into the living room, ending in the bedroom where Brian’s “bottom is still in bed!”–makes the book grow and grow. When children finally lay out the whole book, it reaches an impressive 6.5 feet. —Siân Gaetano, children’s and YA editor, Shelf Awareness
The next day came the Phinney Books newsletter featuring the Hallo-Wiener/finger puppet combo:
Non-Book of the Week
Hot Dog Finger Puppet
We’ve restocked our popular Folkmanis finger puppets, with a few new additions, including this adorable item, a wiener dog with its own removable Halloween costume.
And then there was this RH Kids promo:

Available next spring!
Posted by Newtonville Books, Newton, Mass.: “Local shopper Arya the dachshund appreciates our social distancing signage: ‘Please keep your distance/at least 3 dachshunds apart.’ Exceptions made for handing over Milkbones. I hope more dachshunds visit in the future.”
