From the Fern Ridge Library Foundation April 28, 2021:
The Fern Ridge Library Foundation is pleased to announce the successful fundraising project for the GoTrike mobile tricycle.
This summer, the Fern Ridge Library staff will be cycling to community events and bringing library services where people gather. Watch for it Saturday, May 1 at the opening of the Veneta Farmers Market.
Grants from the Equinox Foundation and Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund along with private donations from community members, and donors to the Foundation’s Community Partner business and organization giving program, helped meet the 2019-20 fundraising goal. The GoTrike was produced by Icicle Tricycles in Portland, Oregon in 2021.
The GoTrike will function like a miniature library: it will be loaded it up with books, DVDs, games, and items to circulate from the mobile library. Staff members can check out books, sign up new patrons with library cards, conduct reference searches, visit online books and materials available through the library network, all while being able to engage with the community. The mobile tricycle will be able to attend Pop-up Events, visit the Farmer’s Market, conduct Story-time at the Veneta community pool, as permitted, and participate in other festivities in the Fern Ridge area.
Check out other successful projects made possible with donations to the Fern Ridge Library Foundation to benefit the Fern Ridge Library, a jewel in our community.
Thank you, donors! Watch for the Fern Ridge Library GoTrike this summer!
