Today, Liberty Bay Books’ Suzanne Droppert and author Suzanne Selfors made a very exciting announcement: Suzanne Selfors will be the new owner of Liberty Bay Books in Poulsbo, WA as of February 1, 2020, and Suzanne Droppert will stay at the helm of the Bremerton Liberty Bay Books, but will rename it Ballast Book Company.
Suzanne Selfors has been a long-time customer and supporter of Liberty Bay Books. After she assumes ownership, the store will close for a few days for renovations, like new carpeting and fresh paint. The store will reopen, hopefully by February 8 or 9. Watch social media and the store’s site for updates.
Liberty Bay Book Company’s Kobo ebook accounts will remain attached to Liberty Bay in Poulsbo. Libro.fm audiobook accounts will transfer affiliation to Ballast Book Company. Liberty Bay gift certificates will remain valid at both locations. The same friendly bookstore staff will remain at Liberty Bay (with the exception of Suzanne Droppert, who spend her work time at Ballast– but who I am sure will drop by to support Suzanne Selfors).
