Inklings Bookshop (@inklingsbookshop ) is a treasure in our city. It is a one-stop shop for any of your literary or gifting needs. I love the whole store but I really want to focus on what it offers children.
Inklings has a beautifully curated selection of books for all interests, ages, and persons. Walking in my kids immediately head to the kids area and peruse the walls. What I love most is that Inklings offers possibility. It makes my children aware of how many books are out there and how many stories there are to experience and how much there is to learn. From birth to college, from manga to Mo Willems, there is a book for every child.
With its floor to ceiling shelves and soft leather chairs, kids are given permission to take the time to explore and laugh and imagine in the pages of a good book.
Three tips about Inklings!
1. It has a toddler and preschool story time on Tuesdays at 10am. You can be sure that the books read are always solid choices to take home.
2. It takes gently used books and sells them! If you are browsing and notice a small dot sticker on the spine, that book is significantly discounted. I have often found great children’s books there this way!
3. They have a Friends of Inklings program that tracks how much you spend and for every $100 spent, you get $3 in store credit back. You also get a tote to use on any 5th Saturday for 20% off an items purchased.
All this to say, I really love Inklings…and my kids do too.
