From Diana Portwood of Bob’s Books in Lincoln City, OR:
Things booksellers do: rally the community to pitch in! A visitor to town parked out front and left her lights on. Her dad came in to see if there was a roadside assistance business in town to see about a jump as they don’t have AAA. He called the local business, but they wanted $70 to drive the 3 blocks and jump the minivan. (I get that they’re a business, but yikes!) I told him to wait on that. I’m stuck inside my shop so I posted in a community discussion page what happened and called my dad to see if he could help.
Three people showed up within minutes (including one of my regulars), they’re on their way again. Here’s to my new 16′ jumper cables!
