Author/ illustrator Corinna Luyken poses with her PNBA Award at the presentation party at Browsers Bookshop in Olympia, WA
It was a beautiful party for Corinna Luyken and her wonderful children’s picture book, The Book of Mistakes, at Browsers Bookshop in Olympia on Saturday, April 28. As Browsers’ Andrea Griffith wrote, “It was Olympia’s Arts Walk weekend AND Independent Bookstore Day!” The community came together for the presentation of the 2018 Pacific Northwest Book Award for The Book of Mistakes.

The crowd got a chance to see original art from the award-winning book as well as an early copy of the next book publishing with Corinna’s illustrations:
Adrian Simcox Does NOT Have a Horse, written by Marcy Campbell. Corinna describes the upcoming book as “
essentially a story about compassion/empathy but is also a really fun read aloud because there are hidden horses throughout the book.” It’s gorgeous, hitting bookstores August 14, 2018, and available for preorder now with your favorite independent bookstore.
“Thank you again for the award, it is incredibly meaningful to us!”
