Today marks the sixteenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks. There are now several books for children about the topic: historical fiction as well as nonfiction.
Scholastic, the children’s publisher, put together a helpful resource page for adults to help children understand and process 9/11 as well as other general tough issues that are in the news, like war, violence, and natural disasters.
Your local independent booksellers and librarians are also good resources if you’d like help finding books to help with difficult discussions. It takes a village, and we’re here to help.
