Lars Mytting brought us to a deeper understanding of wood heating culture in Norway with Norwegian Wood. This work also got me thinking about vital importance of wood heating in the Pacific Northwest and the similarities and differences in approach.
This book also makes a compelling case for wood heat as a green, carbon neutral technology. Using the latest woodstove technologies, it is easy to demonstrate that there will be minimum particulate emissions and the gas emissions will be effectively burned too. Considering wood as renewable makes the whole process carbon neutral as well.
This book inspired me to look at wood very differently, and raised questions for me to follow up on. Great book for the NW resident.
