I LOVED this book just like all of Kat Falls’ other books! So great, a futuristic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe complete with an evil kingdom, animal guides and a hole in wall that leads to a magical place. A zombie-like apocalypse happens in the US but, instead of turning in to zombies when bitten, people start getting animal characteristics. There are 50 different strains of the virus turning people into 50 different animals, and people can live with their animal characteristics as their normal selves until they reach a point when they become feral and lose all of their humanity. Some of the human civilization lives behind a great wall that keeps them separated from the “feral zone,” but Delaney Park finds her world turned upside down when she gets forced to enter the feral zone. Things aren’t exactly like she’s been told on her side of the wall, and she is determined to help find an end to the virus.
