Stephen King’s new novel, Doctor Sleep, is a sequel to The Shining. It inspired reviewers from the New York Times to USA Today to pun in their titles.
Even funnier is what the bloggers at real estate website movoto.com have been up to. They sent nwbooklovers the following email:
“Since Stephen King’s The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep was just published this week, we thought it would be fun to see what the value is for the Overlook Hotel, the setting for The Shining. It turns out that the scary hotel is worth more than a million bucks in real world value.
“We even made a fun fictitious listing that you guys over at PNBA chuckle at and maybe blog about: http://www.movoto.com/blog/novelty-real-estate/shining-overlook-hotel/“
Oh yes, we’re chuckling!
This made us recall the following image from an awesome book coming out soon—Alternative Movie Posters by Matthew Chojnacki:
What other fictional real estate would you like to see a listing for?
Thanks for the mention!
Love the book, Matthew. Our booksellers are going to have a lot of fun handselling this in their holiday campaigns.
