September 4, 2013
On Monday September 9 at 7:00 at Richard Hugo House, author Ryan Boudinot will “present an overview of the UNESCO City of Literature program,” and then “discuss the application process, and what to expect if UNESCO designates Seattle a City of Literature.” Everyone who is interested in learning more and/or participating is invited to join this free event.
You might remember Boudinot’s celebration of Seattle’s literary culture from the Elliott Bay Book Company 40th Anniversary celebration. Dublin, Reykjavik, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Norwich, and Iowa City: what do they have that Seattle doesn’t? Well, they’re all designated UNESCO Cities of Literature.
Ryan Boudinot and many other dedicated literature-lovers want to make sure Seattle gets recognition for its unique and vibrant literary scene.
If you’d like to help put Seattle on another map, Monday September 9 is your chance to get involved.
