Have you heard of the Sledgehammer 36-Hour Writing Contest? This year, 39 stories were submitted based on the writing prompts and scavenger hunt organized to “support writing as a team activity, foster love for the beautiful city of Portland and its small businesses as well as larger-scale writing communities, and thrive through cooperative creativity among people and across the arts.” The contest took place over the weekend of August 17-18, but the fun hasn’t stopped yet.
Readers everywhere can go to the Sledgehammer website through September 21 to vote for their favorite stories for the Readers’ Choice Award.
Winners will be announced September 30, and Wordstock will host a reading by the winners on October 5.
