Ferry Tales, the Kitsap Regional Library program that partners with the Seattle/Bainbridge Ferry to reach out to readers who ride the ferry, has its first author event of the year this Thursday, April 25, 2013.
Once a month on the Thursday 3:50 Bainbridge to Seattle ferry and on the 4:40 Seattle to Bainbridge ferry, the Kitsap Regional Library will host book club, with occasional bonus Meet an Author events.
The first author to kick off the program is bestselling author Susan Wiggs with her new novel, The Apple Orchard, coming out April 30th.
During the Ferry Tales ferry rides April 25, Bainbridge author Wiggs will discuss her new book. It features family drama; a fictionalized account of some true World War II heroism; the return of a precious necklace confiscated by Nazis; and a plot line involving a Faberge egg.
A masterful blend of history, romance, and suspense, The Apple Orchard has earned a starred review from Kirkus. This richly-plotted, enchanting new novel is the first in Susan Wiggs’ new series. Early readers describe it as an emotionally honest narrative that explores the real meaning of family, friendship, and belonging.
If you miss the boat on this week’s event but want to meet Susan Wiggs and learn more about The Apple Orchard, Eagle Harbor Books on Bainbridge will host her for an event on May 9 at 7:30.
You can preorder your copy of The Apple Orchard at your favorite local bookstore now.
The Ferry Tales programs are free– you just need your ferry ticket!
