Cool column, love the insider language, the “shelf talker” analogy, and the in-store anecdotes. Keep it coming!

It’s a pleasure to read something that celebrates books and the communities built around them. Despite our many digital fixations, these treasures continue to thrive. Looking forward to the next installment!

What a thoughtful recommendation. I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for “Extraordinary Popular Delusions…” My first crack at a novel-length project was based on a character I found in it. I first read it 20 years ago, and I’ve revisited it quite a few times over the years.

In a mad, mad, mad, mad world, it is extremely nice to be able to drop into the bookstore, calmly cruise the shelves, and perhaps run into an interesting fellow peruser. A welcome respite, even for a SW book lover.

I appreciate the comments and I’m going to try and offer all my observations in positive and constructive ways. One interesting note from the sales floor–our one copy of ‘Extraordinary Popular Delusions and The Madness of Crowds’ SOLD the day the column appeared. And I wasn’t at the store that day to see it go. WHO was that customer? Well, I said I wanted an element of mystery in the column and now I definitely have it!
