Washington indies are teaming up with literacy nonprofit Page Ahead to collect books for kids. Drop in to a store near you between May 28 and June 8 and purchase a book to drop in the box. Your store and Page Ahead will put your book into the hands of the right kid. Many stores will be offering deals to increase donations, so make sure to mention that you’d like to make a purchase for the Best Books for Kids Drive.
Serving children from primarily low-income families, Page Ahead collaborates with elementary schools, tutoring programs, Head Start and other preschool programs, tribal libraries, migrant centers, homeless shelters, and teen parenting programs across Washington state to improve the reading and language skills of at-risk children.
