For weeks at a time, this family of five leaves behind a normal American life of school and work, electronics and plumbing, for lengthy remote river trips that celebrate the coming of age of each child. Raised on rivers, these kids are anything but whiny as they take on bugs, foul weather, and hard work, not hesitating to pull together when the need arises, but also having fun along the way and reminding their parents why they love their chosen lifestyle.
