I have just completed James Benn’s 4th installment of Billy Boyle WWII mysteries, Evil for Evil.
I learned more about the “Irish Troubles” than I had previously learned in more than sixty years of reading (both for pleasure and for educational purposes). In addition, Benn continues to drop Billy into WWII situations that were real.
Benn also keeps the romance of Diana and Billy as an “on again, off again” affair. A real page turner in terms of the action. His descriptions of the Irish countryside are like watching a travel documentary.
