I’ve read this lovely little classic before, but each and every time I get around to re-reading it, I discover new joys in amongst its already engaging Regency charm and Austentatious wit. It’s a tale of two sisters, one of the excessively sensible persuasion who has trouble embracing sensibility in the expression of her emotions, and the other who cannot be persuaded to take off her romantically rose-colored lenses long enough to see the sense (or lack thereof) in the way she’s always expressing hers. Definitely worth a look-see for those who’ve wanted to try an Austen, but who also don’t have the slightest clue where to start.
I discovered your lovely website at the prompting of your 2011 Holiday Books guide and, insatiable book lover that I am, couldn’t help but pop on over to see what all the fuss was about. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a lovely site filled to the brim with loads of bibliophilic information & I’ll be sure to come back to visit as much as I can. And, in the event that you were wondering, my favorite local bookseller is Klindt’s Booksellers located in The Dalles, Oregon. Thanks so much & happy holidays!
