Seattle’s Matthew Inman is an entrepreneur, web developer, online marketer, and, most important to us, he’s “The Oatmeal.” The Oatmeal, Inman’s commentary-rich comics site is fit for a wince, a laugh, a lesson; and now it’s fit for a book. 5 Very Good Reasons to Punch a Dolphin in the Mouth (And Other Useful Guides) promises to be a hit (unintentional bad pun) for as long as Seattle weather sucks and people love and/or hate kitties. And as Inman says of his comics in this GalleyCat interview, “Mine are actually sometimes useful like How to Use a Semicolon.” He even makes these “guides” available as 18″ x 24″ posters that are totally appropriate for the cool high school English teacher’s classroom—or maybe the office wall of the blog contributor who still has occasional trouble with effect/affect.
