It’s always fun to check out the weekly list of Northwest Bestsellers, especially to see what’s selling well in the Northwest that’s not on the national lists. This week a little book caught my eye called Good Night Oregon (#8 on the children’s illustrated books list), from a company called Our World of Books. I’m thinking this is a riff on Goodnight, Moon, but then it really does feature places around Oregon, so it’s somewhat different. Parent’s Magazine reviewed the series, calling the books “Beautifully illustrated stories of place.” The company has dozens of books in this series, including one for Seattle, NYC, Tennessee, Charleston, Boston… well, you get the idea. Hey, you booksellers in Idaho!! Think you could sell a Good Night Idaho, featuring Craters of the Moon and all those other goodies? And Alaska?!?! Holy cow, imagine the possibilities!
