Village Books in Bellingham has a great guest blog entry by Debra Daniels-Zeller, the author of The Northwest Vegetarian Cookbook: 200 Recipes That Celebrate the Flavors of Oregon and Washington, from Portland’s Timber Press. The blog post, about visiting the farmer’s market in Medford, Oregon, and discovering the locally-made flour from Dunbar Farms and her subsequent visit to the farm and meeting with the owner, reminded me a lot of how some people react to meeting an independent bookseller and learning how and why they do what they do. It’s a wonderful portrait. I ordered a copy of the book from the Village Books web site. Easy as veggie pie!
