Sixty people showed up Wednesday evening, April 28 at the University (of Washington) Bookstore’s main location in Seattle to listen to a reading of Helene Hanff’s classic (1948) 84 Charing Cross Road by employees Brad Craft and Pam Cady. The video is a bit basic, and you may need to turn the volume up, but the reading reveals a marvelous writing style that translates incredibly well to the spoken word. Cady is a manager and buyer at the University Bookstore. Craft is a used book buyer at the University Bookstore and a member of PNBA’s Book Award Committee.
