April 15 saw the commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. Today, over 36,000 marathoners take to the course, proving true the rallying phrase of “Boston Strong.”

The bombings at the 2013 Boston Marathon affected the Pacific Northwest bookloving community; authors, booksellers, and readers were there. Adrianne Haslet-Davis, a dance teacher in Boston, and her husband Adam Davis were victims of the second bomb. Adrianne lost her left foot and part of her leg.
