Today’s Face Out offers a rave for a gorgeous arty kids’ book called Seasons from Carol Santoro, of Santoro’s Books in Seattle. Seasons is the kind of book you have to pick up and turn its pages to really get. Santoro says she’s displaying it as part of a section called “Books You Must Touch,” along with titles like And the Pursuit of Happiness by Maira Kalman and Natural Curiousities by Alfred Russell Wallace. “I’m trying to draw attention to those books that could NEVER be translated to an electronic format (at least not without losing some of the magic),” Santoro says. “They encourage you to flip through the pages until you haphazardly land in the perfect place.” Amen to that.
