On Wednesdays, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Bestseller list is published. Every week, we love to see what has been most popular in independent bookstores around our region. As we peruse the list, we ponder patterns. Then we present this weekly feature: Thursday Themes.
It’s dark well before closing time at most of our stores thanks to our clocks falling back (and the turning of the seasons), and it’s kind of dark on our bestseller displays this week, too. In fact, there were so many dark color-based covers on our list, I chose to feature just adult titles this week. If the darkness of the list persists, watch for some nocturnal-looking kids’ and and YA covers next week.
