Congratulations to Alaskan author Erin McKittrick! Her book, Small Feet, Big Land: Adventure, Home, and Family on the Edge of Alaska won the 2014 National Outdoor Book Award in the category of Outdoor Literature.
Judges for the National Outdoor Book Awards come from all over the country. They grant awards in the categories of Outdoor Literature, Natural History Literature, History/Biography, Classic Award, Nature & the Environment, Design & Artistic Merit, Children’s, Outdoor Adventure Guidebook, Nature Guidebooks, Instructional, and Work of Significance.
2013 NOBA honorable mentions included Pacific Northwest authors David Moskowitz (Wolves in the Land of Salmon in the Natural History Literature category) and Dylan Tomine (Closer to the Ground in the Outdoor Literature Category).
