Some very exciting news from Sylla McClellan, owner of Third Street Books in McMinnville, Oregon:
“NEWS! NEWS! NEWS! In case you haven’t been by the store recently, or you don’t follow us on facebook (click
here to do so – we usually post fun stuff there weekly!) we have some exciting news for you: WE ARE MOVING! JUST TWO DOORS DOWN! I know, all caps is usually used as a way to denote screaming – but we are SO EXCITED we just had to yell a bit. Third Street Books will be taking over the former Christian Science Reading Room later this fall. We hope to reopen in the new space in late-September/early-October.
“Some customers have expressed dismay. They
like the way the store is now. Don’t worry, we do too. We hope to take all the best parts of the current space, and transfer them to the new space.
The new space, with fresh paint and newly-finished floors
Store owner, Sylla, suited up to paint the new space
“Some big pluses that are on the horizon: fresh paint, newly finished floors, new lights and NEW BOOKSCASES!!!
“We still have a lot of work to do, least of which is move all the books. So stay tuned, we are probably going to ask you to help. Haven’t you always wanted to create a human chain to move about 8000 books 40 feet? This HAS to be on someone’s bucket list! When we have a date for that feat, we will announce it and ask for your help. Until then, we will periodically post photos on our facebook page so you can watch our progress!
“Trust me, you are gonna love it!”
We can’t wait to see it all, Third Street.
