Polaroids from Phinney Books’ first birthday party in 2015.
From Phinney Books’ store owner, Tom Nissley:
Hello many friends of Phinney Books—
We are turning ten years old (!!) this week—on Thursday, June 20, to be specific—and we are celebrating that evening with a little party at the store. After we close at 7 pm, our door will stay open to visit with friends we’ve made (or managed to keep) over those ten years here. There will be some food, and some drink, and, most refreshingly (at least from the perspective of those of us who usually spend our days behind the counter, asking if you’d like a bag), NO BOOKS WILL BE SOLD. (If you do want to buy a book or two to celebrate our birthday, we recommend doing so over the weekend, when everything in the store will be 10% off.)
It will be a casual affair, and this is very short notice, sent in case you haven’t already seen our newsletter and Instagram announcements, but if you can come by on Thursday, we’d love to see you! And thanks so much for making these ten years (and the next decade or two, we hope) possible.
Tom
P.S. Whether you can make it on Thursday or not, feel free think about the favorite books you’ve read over the past ten years. We’ve been making our own lists (it’s hard!), and we’ll love to have yours too—they’ll be plenty of chances to submit yours over the next few weeks.
