“I have been eagerly awaiting the release of In the Kingdom of Men by Kim Barnes for months. In fact, Kim had tried to get me an ARC of the book but something went awry along the way and the book never showed up. A few weeks ago she asked me again if I had received a copy. When I said no she said she’d make sure I got a finished copy of the book as they were hot off the presses.
I actually squealed when I got the package a couple of days later. The book is so beautiful. I couldn’t stop touching it and turning it over and over in my hands. I had to bide my time because the mail arrived at 10 am and I couldn’t take my lunch break until 2 pm.
To simply say it is wonderful doesn’t do the book justice. It is phenomenal. I mean, knock your socks off, out of this world, phenomenal. I rarely (if ever anymore) finish a book and feel like reading it again. I might really love a book and read certain passages that touched me, but I never re-read a book. That is until now. I finished the book, set it down for a few hours and then picked it up and started reading it again. That is what I mean by phenomenal. You will not be able to put it down. I loved every single moment both times through.”—Claudia Wohlfeil, University of Idaho Bookstore, Boise
Wow. With a recommendation like this one, who could resist?
You had me, Claudia, at “I have been eagerly awaiting”. Can’t wait to read this.
