Oh, what a book birthday it was! Fans of Sanae Ishida flocked to Drygoods Design in Pioneer Square in Seattle for a very crafty launch party for her new book, Sewing Hapiness: A Year of Simple Projects for Living Well.
Ishida pre-sewed mini aromatherapy heating pillows for guests to fill and hand-stitch closed. (Pre-knotted, threaded needles were provided!)
These are tiny versions of the project in her book– perfect as sachets or for travel.
Guests could also make fabric fortune cookies (adapted from the Fortune Cookie Advent Calendar project in the book) and custom-stamped bookmarks on hand-painted paper.
Also on offer: fake tattoos! Here’s mine of the title:
It was a load of fun! Sanae will be doing more events in the Seattle area. Coming up soon:
- Eagle Harbor Books, Thursday 4/28 from 7:30- 8:30pm
- Queen Anne Book Company Sunday 5/8 3:00 pm
