We at nwbooklovers.org are excited to announce a live show by our very own Shelf Talker columnist, Jeffrey Shaffer!
His one-man show, “Night of the Living Humorist,” will be at O’Connor’s Annex next door to Annie Bloom’s in Multnomah Village in Portland on Wednesday, June 5 from 7:00- 8:30.
Shaffer is the author of I’m Right Here, Fish-Cake and It Came With The House. He describes his presentation as “part stand-up comedy, part old-time medicine show, and a significant amount of gorilla [sic] theater.” Sing-alongs and trivia contests will be included in the festivities.
Sounds like there’s going to be a heck of a time to be had! Admission is free. Books will be available for purchase and signing. For details or to purchase Jeffrey’s books online, go to www.annieblooms.com.
Jeff,
Thanks for welcoming me so warmly to the splendid Annie Bloom’s. Delight to be there, even if the housecat was a little standoffish when she probably intuited that I am a canine rather than feline advocate. Still any cat with a Joycean name is way cool with me.
Enjoyed the evening and am only sorry I didn’t know about your other life in comedy, sorry I missed the O’Connor’s appearance. I did think it was Kismet that the performer last night, according to the chalkboard, must be a doppelganger of some kind — the singer’s name is Linda Lee.
all the best,
Linda Lee Peterson
